For an architectural professional, the table is the mirror of a mental organization where objects related to personal relationships, ideas and habits are carved out between a stack of papers, the diary and the pen holder.

Adolfo Natalini is the protagonist of the sixth appointment of Paradigma. The periodic project conceived by Sergio Risaliti curated by Laura Andreini and realized thanks to Manifattura Tabacchi which sees at the center from time to time the projects of famous architects, collectives and architectural firms of the contemporary scene arranged above and around the table, support par excellence for the creation of an architect.
Adolfo Natalini brings on display at the Museo Novecento, in the covered loggia on the ground floor, a selection of his precious drawings retracing the history of man and architect through the pages of the notebooks that have always accompanied him, in every moment of his career and in every place.
His hand has been tireless since 1954, the year in which he began to put on paper, with meticulous attention, everything that surrounds him: “I used to draw my hand, portraits of schoolmates, landscapes, self-portraits”, he explains. Pistoiese by birth, he moved to Florence during his university years where he graduated in Architecture. In 1966 he founded the avant-garde group Superstudio which inaugurated the Radical Architecture season and which led him to exhibit his works in an exhibition at the MoMA in New York in 1972. After the Superstudio experience, in 1978, he began his career as a designer.
Among the major works are: the reconstruction of the Waagstraat in Groningen, the Opificio delle Pietre Dure Museum in Florence, the Dorotheenhof on the Manetstrasse in Leipzig, the Muzenplein in The Hague, the Campi Bisenzio Shopping Center, the University Center of Novoli, Boscotondo in Helmond, Het Eiland in Zwolle, Haverlej in Den Bosch, the Opera del Duomo Museum and the project for the New Uffizi.
However, drawing remains the main practice pursued in every moment of life. Each sign is linked to a thought; each architecture is linked to a sketch. Drawing gives order to his thoughts: tireless creative flows of a great protagonist of our times.
