Seminar organized by the journal “Informatics and law“
Moderators: Gian Luca Conti, Marina Pietrangelo, Francesco Romano
The study seminar, promoted by the international journal “Informatics and Law”, published by the Institute of Theory and Techniques of Legal Information of the National Research Council, takes its cue from a monographic issue dedicated to legal issues related to the ever-increasing diffusion of social media average.
The meeting will deepen both the resistance and the reaction of the positive law in force, in a comparative perspective, with respect to the massive use of these tools; both the idea of social networks as possible “new legal systems”, as well as as new “business models”.
In recent years there has been no lack of emergency interventions by legislators, who have attempted to govern the “social media phenomenon”, which is increasingly elusive to the regulation of state systems, by separate parties. Just think of the matter of defamation by “post”, the protection of copyright, the confidentiality of personal data, anonymity and finally the methods of exercising participation rights. Every day new issues emerge that affect profiles of civil, criminal, commercial, public law, intersecting other disciplines such as sociology, philosophy, linguistics, information technology, etc….
