Who wants to know more about me, that is, about the artist, the only one worth knowing, look carefully at my paintings to find out who I am and what I want.” Gustav Klimt

Gustav Klimt is one of the masters of modern European art; works such as The Kiss, The Tree of Life or Judith are now famous icons of the history of art but also of popular culture. Yet Klimt remains an artist yet to be discovered and above all to be told. This is the objective of the agile monograph by Giovanni Iovane and Sergio Risaliti, which also through the precise description of the works will help the reader to reconstruct the evolution of the art of the founding father of the Viennese Secession, the salient stages of his career, the large commissions, sentimental events, from youth to mature age up to the last years of activity when, not satisfied with the results achieved, he changed style to experience a new creative phase better known as the season of the flowery style.
