Musical and dance performances between tradition and contemporaneity
Feeling Korea will open with Sarangga, typical music dedicated to love, to continue with Sinawi, a traditional form of music performed by an ensemble that formerly accompanied the rites of Korean shamanism. In the second part of the evening there will be a Live Drawing Art with the painter Kim Mook Won and the dance performance Somoo of the six Korean dancers who make up the Art Project Bora.
The 14th edition of the Florence Korea Film Fest will be held from 11 to 18 March at the Odeon cinema, Niccolini Theatre and other places in the city. The event brings South Korean cinematography to Italy with tributes, prizes, retrospectives, actors and guest directors. The 2016 edition honors the star Ryoo Seung-wan, actor and director among the most famous in his homeland. The festival is directed by Riccardo Gelli, creator and founder of the initiative, and coordinated by Deputy Director Eun-young Chang.
The Florence Korea Film Fest is organized by Taegukgi – Toscana Korea Association as part of the Eastern Spring, an event that includes film festivals dedicated to the Orient organized by Fondazione Sistema Toscana. The event benefits from the contribution of the Tuscany Region, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, the City of Florence, in collaboration with FST (Fondazione Sistema Toscana), KOFIC (Korean Film Council), Asiana Airlines, Kia – Florence Car and Museo Novecento.
