“The fall of the Saaremaa meteorite, with the consequent production of iron from Lake Kaali by ancient blacksmiths, may have played a far from secondary role in the history of prehistoric Europe, as the importance of the myth of Phaeton, presumably inspired by that event, in the thought of ancient Greece, which in turn permeated the whole culture of the West ». (Felice Vinci)

Recent studies on the Bronze Age in the Nordic area show its affinity with the Mycenaean civilization in Greece, in particular with the Homeric poems, which represent the founding texts of Western culture.
This opens up unprecedented, fascinating perspectives regarding the beginnings of Greek civilization and European prehistory itself. Not only that, the common cultural heritage that unites the Baltic to the Mediterranean could favor a different approach to the idea of European unity, based not so much on economics and finance, but on culture and the memory of our common origins.
