Concert: mdi ensemble, 25 July at 7:00p.m

Forget the conventions, the predictability and probability of a musical experience, the concert invites you to enter into the language of timbres, physical sensations, in an abstract emotional world made of imperceptible and transfigured semantic relationships, in colors and tones linked only to the concrete reality of the vibration of the musical instrument.

mdi ensemble was formed in Milan in 2002 on the initiative of six young musicians united by a passion for contemporary music. During its more than ten years of activity, the ensemble becomes regular guest of the most important Italian musical institutions, including Milano Musica, where it is artist-in-residence until 2017, Festival mito – Settembre Musica, Biennale di Venezia, Mittelfest, Bologna Festival, Trajectories Festival of Parma, Ravenna Festival, Friends of Music of Palermo. Among the many concerts abroad, we mention those at SMC in Lausanne, Museo d’arte contemporanea di Lugano, SWR in Stuttgart, ORF in Innsbruck, LACMA in Los Angeles, Chelsea Music Festival in New York and on tour in Japan. The group’s discography includes monographic CDs with music by Gervasoni, Bussotti, Verrando, Momi and Mochizuki.
