Car
The area of the historic center of Florence is defined as a limited traffic area (ZTL) and protected by telematic access gates.
If you arrive by car, you must leave the car outside the center or in one of the paid parking lots, such as the one in Piazza della Stazione (Firenze Parcheggi) then walk to Piazza Santa Maria Novella (about 5 minutes).

If you arrive by train at Santa Maria Novella Station, you can continue on foot and arrive in 5 minutes.

If you arrive by plane, the Amerigo Vespucci Airport is about 6 km from Piazza Santa Maria Novella and is also well connected by bus (including the “Vola in Bus” line, arriving at the SITA bus station in Florence, near the square Station) and the T2 line of the Tram.

Other Information
Cloakroom
Free service located in the entrance hall. Before entering the exhibition areas and the Archives and the Library visitors are asked to deposit in the cloakroom suitcases, packages, umbrellas and bags which exceed the allowed dimensions.
Photographs and Films
It is not allowed to photograph or film inside the Museum, unless visitors have permission by the Civic Museums, to be requested through the specific procedure. Photographing and filming are often organized by the management in order to document the activities. Every shot will be in any case preceeded by an authorization request.
Wi-Fi
Food and drinks
It is not allowed to consume food or drinks inside the exhibition rooms and locations of the Museo Novecento.
Locations
The Museo Novecento is located in the center of Florence, in Piazza Santa Maria Novella,
in the complex of the ancient Leopoldine Hospital.
The Museo Novecento can be accessed from Piazza Santa Maria Novella and from Via Palazzuolo.
The Museo Novecento is completely accessible except for the Didactic Laboratory – in the mezzanine – not accessible to persons with motor disabilities.
Ground Floor
On the Ground Floor, which develops around the Cloister of the old hospital, there are the ticket office, the cloakroom, the bookshop and a reception area.
The exhibition rooms host temporary exhibitions included in the Duel, Room and the Architect’s Table cycles, as well as being used for special projects.
Cloister
Inside the Cloister they take place activities such as workshops, lectures, concerts, performances and film screenings especially in the summer season.
Didactic Laboratory
The Didactic Laboratory, located in the mezzanine, hosts laboratories and workshops organized by cultural mediation. The Didactic Laboratory is not accessible to persons with motor disabilities.
First Floor
The exhibition rooms on the First Floor host temporary exhibitions included in the Grandi Mostre, Campo Aperto and Ora et Labora cycles, as well as being used for special projects.
Cinema Room
The Cinema Hall hosts film screenings but also lectures, workshops and performances.
Second Floor
The exhibition rooms on the Second Floor house the permanent collection from the Alberto della Ragione Collection and temporary exhibitions included in the Solo and Ètoile cycles as well as being used for special projects.
Third Floor
The exhibition hall on the third floor houses the permanent collection from the Ottone Rosai Legacy.
Caffè Cortese 900
Cortese Caffè 900 is the new café of the Museo Novecento opened by Vito Cortese, the most important raw food pastry chef in Italy. 130 square meters, with a large outdoor space under the loggia that overlooks Piazza Santa Maria Novella right next to the museum entrance, to offer customers a real new way of understanding dessert: no longer a sin of gluttony but an experience of pleasure that is also a tribute to health.
Only and only fine raw materials with a high nutritional value, bio and vegan, transformed, thanks to drying and fermentation processes, into delicious, balanced and unforgettable gourmet recipes.

The Bookshop of the Museo Novecento offers, through direct sales, a wide range of offers to its public: catalogs of its collections and temporary exhibitions, specialized books, sector magazines, objects, gift and design items.
