Museo Novecento
The Museo Novecento continues the cycle of Noi del Novecento meetings throughout 2022, a free itinerary aimed at elderly people with Alzheimer’s and cognitive impairment, guests of the nursing homes or with their families.
Developed in collaboration with the Tuscan Museums network for Alzheimer‘s and curated by MUS.E, the appointments will resume starting from Friday 28 October at 3:00 pm at the Museo Novecento (Piazza Santa Maria Novella, 10 – Florence).
In the belief that the encounter with art, history and culture is the bearer of a profound well-being and a meaning that still today it is difficult to define and measure, the Museo Novecento together with the network of the Florentine Civic Museums and MUS.E in fact, for years they have been deeply committed to “special audiences” who wish to access museums, attend them, experience them, understand them. Among these, special attention is paid to the elderly with fragilty, who are naturally linked to the Museo Novecento, its collections and its history for biographical reasons.
The presentation appointment of the Noi del Novecento autumn cycle is aimed at family members and caregivers, who will thus be able to learn more about the details and methods of the proposed meetings and meet the museum team. The family meetings will be held every two weeks, alternating with a calendar for guests of the nursing homes for the elderly, always convinced that close contact with art, history and culture is the bearer of well-being.
The appointments for the guests of the nursing homes are set for 4, 18 November and 2 December at 3 pm, those for families on 11, 29 November and 9 December always at 3 pm. instead a final meeting aimed at everyone is planned.
Starting from February 3, however, the format will move to the Museum of Palazzo Vecchio with the cycle “One palace, a thousand stories”.

With the beginning of the new year 2023, always convinced that close contact with art, history and culture brings welfare, the appointments dedicated to the elderly with Alzheimer’s and cognitive impairment are back, organized by the Florentine Civic Museums and MUS.E, developed in collaboration with the Tuscan Museums network for Alzheimer’s.
After the cycle at the Stefano Bardini Museum, which was greatly appreciated by families, health centers and structures, February 3 , 2023 in Palazzo Vecchio there will be the presentation of the initiatives of the first semester that will take place at the Museum of Palazzo Vecchio and at the Museo Novecento. This first meeting is aimed at family members and caregivers, who will thus be able to learn more about the details and methods of the proposed meetings and meet the museum team.
Starting from 14 April, however, the format will move to the Museo Novecento with the Noi del Novecento cycle. Also in this case the first meeting will be aimed at family members and caregivers (April 14), to then alternate the calendar of meetings: those for families are scheduled for April 21, May 5 and 19 at 3 pm; those for guests of the structures on 28 April, 12 and 26 May at 3pm. The final meeting on 9 June at 3 pm is still dedicated to everyone.
The meetings will be conducted by MUS.E mediators supported by specialized geriatric operators and educators, who will accompany the participants through the rooms where you can sit, admire and explore the subject of art in complete tranquility, focusing on some masterpieces that will come to life thanks to a shared narrative.
