Sunday, September 4, the Sunday Metropolitan returns, a day in which all residents of the Metropolitan City of Florence have the opportunity to use the city museums for free.
Citizens will also be able to take part in the numerous visits and activities scheduled in the various places thanks to the support of GIOTTO, a love brand of F.I.L.A. Italian Lapis and Affini Factory, and of Lucart.
At Forte di Belvedere you can take part in visits to exhibitions dedicated to female artists: on the one hand the solo Play It Again by the young and talented Rä di Martino and on the other the exhibition Photographers! presented and promoted by the Alinari Foundation for Photography and the CR Firenze Foundation, in collaboration with the Municipality of Florence. At the Museo Novecento it will also be possible to visit the temporary exhibitions dedicated to Filippo De Pisis, Giulio Paolini and Luca Vitone and Corrado Cagli.

The visit allows you to better appreciate the exhibitions dedicated to three great Italian artists: Filippo De Pisis, Giulio Paolini and Luca Vitone. A real artistic journey of one hundred years, thanks to a rich and surprising game of references and intertwining: starting from the splendid and deep still lifes of Filippo De Pisis, crossing the mysteries of reality, time and art thanks to the sophisticated work by Giulio Paolini and arriving at the unpublished works of Luca Vitone, who is inspired by the two artists to give life to new site-specific works, the participants will be able to grasp the dirimental aspects of twentieth century art and draw important insights into reality and its interpretation.

The visits allow you to deepen the thought and work of the artist Rä di Martino, who with the Play it again exhibition offers the general public videos and installations of playful depth for each of us, and to appreciate the works of great photographers, intertwining looks and outcomes of the twentieth century – taken from the Alinari collections – and creations by contemporary authors and leading to the discovery of the unpublished archive of the multifaceted Edith Arnaldi, aka Futurist Rosa Rosà. The route also allows you to learn about the history and characters of the extraordinary military architecture of Forte di Belvedere.
