Andrea Chimenti as David Bowie, 20 July at 9.30p.m

Andrea Chimenti is an eclectic artist, songwriter but also writer, poet and designer. The concert starts from the idea that artists such as Bowie, Pink Floyd, the Beatles, Endrigo or Modugno (just to mention a few) deserve to enter as authors in the repertoire of opera and national theaters. To accompany Chimenti will be, not surprisingly, the chamber orchestra I Nostri Tempi and his quartet that will present a premiere interpretation and rewrite of the orchestral parts of the originals. In an effort to overcome the traditional dichotomy between genres, the concert will complement Bowie’s works with Beethoven in an unusual set-list.

The concert is organized by NEM Nuovi Eventi Musicali and is included in the program of the Estate Fiorentina 2015.
